SECURITY GUARD TRAINING

The Security Officer training is for anyone who wants to get a Security Guard SIA Licence and work legally as a Security Guard in the UK.
With severe shortages in the industry, now’s a perfect time to get your Security Guard SIA Licence and work in the security industry.

This 4-day course contains the knowledge and skills you need to pass your exam and apply for your Security Guard SIA Licence. That licence will allow you to find work in the growing security industry.

Some of the roles you could find yourself working in include:

  • Manned Guarding
  • Patrol Officer
  • Key-Holder
  • Site Security Guard
  • Retail Security Officer
  • Building Reception
  • Store Detective
  • and more

Did you know? Management level employees in some businesses may also be required to hold a frontline licence

Career Progression

Security Officers enjoy a lot of flexibility in their work. You might benefit from that flexibility by using your SIA Licence to earn around your other commitments.

However, you can also continue your professional development in security work in several directions, and become:

  • Security Supervisor
  • Security Manager
  • Contract Manager
  • Facilities Manager

Many, if not all, senior employees of large security companies started their careers in manned guarding roles.

Expert Tip: Getting a Door Supervisor Licence is better value for money than a Security Guard Licence for many security professionals. It allows you to work in a variety of security jobs, including all manned guarding roles.

See Carl from Get Licensed explain the difference between a Security Guard Licence and a Door Supervisor Licence.

NOTE: Remember, Security Guard licence holders cannot work in licensed premises that serve alcohol, which is another reason why we recommend the SIA Door Supervisor Licence Course. It often proves an investment that opens you up to more job prospects.
